I’m drinking my coffee and looking through our garden as the sun touches the green grass. What a beautiful autumn day to enjoy outside, with a cozy sweater and a view worth searching long and hard for.
We are at home. In our own house that we’ve been looking for all this time.
The boxes surrounding me can’t disturb the feeling of coziness. Cozy, yes – that’s how I feel in my new home. We had pancakes for breakfast in our beautiful garden, my child is running around in the grass and my husband is enjoying the view. What a blessing.
The sun is warming our faces, and the gentle taste of autumn is in the air. This home is everything we hoped for, and more.
The Real Estate Market Experience in Hamburg and the Surroundings
It took some time to get here. Our journey to this point was not without its challenges. We spent months meeting with various brokers, each experience leaving us more discouraged than the last.
One property after the other, leaving work earlier, running around finding time to visit houses during the week with a little child and a list full of tasks. Yes, it’s safe to say it was stressful.
We started from very excited to quickly becoming exhausted from the home hunt- there was always something that didn’t quite fit.
There was one house where the garden that came with it was actually going to be turned into a building site shortly after someone bought the property, so that a new separate house could be built on it afterwards. Another time, the house was so full of interested buyers that we had to queue for 25 minutes to even get in and have a 10-minute viewing and then leave for the next people coming in.
The issues were not just about finding the right property, but also about navigating a labyrinth of miscommunications and unmet expectations. My husband’s English is absolutely fluent, unlike his German unfortunately, so the language barrier was a persistent obstacle. Many of the real estate agents could not unfortunately speak any English at all and wanted me to be the translator for them and then for my husband, whenever he had questions. Needless to say, after a while this caused me a huge amount of stress while I was also managing work and daily tasks.
But then came Stefan Brandt, our real estate agent from BBI Immobilien. From the very first day, Stefan changed everything. His presence was a breath of fresh air, offering not only his professional expertise but also a genuine human touch that made all the difference.
The Transformation: From Frustration to Fulfillment
With BBI Immobilien, the process of finding our dream home transformed into an enjoyable journey. Stefan was attentive and thorough, addressing every detail and answering every question. And questions we had plenty!
Unlike the brokers we had encountered before, Stefan’s fluency in English was a huge relief, making the complex real estate process much easier to navigate.
A Partner Who Cares: The BBI Immobilien Difference
What truly sets BBI Immobilien apart is their commitment to their clients. The difference between Stefan and other brokers was night and day. While previous agents were often unresponsive or failed to understand our needs, he was always just a call away.
His responsiveness and dedication were evident in every interaction, from the initial search to the final paperwork.
Welcome Home
Here we are, at home. Laughing about some random situations and houses far, far away. We are finally settling in, reflecting on the ups and downs (and the occasional tears) of our journey.
We’re starting to plan a renovation , but hey – that’s a story for another time.
This is now my sanctuary and I look forward to developing my ideas for Social Gena’s services from here, with a clear mind and motivation for new adventures and overcoming challenges.
Here’s to a new beginning and hopefully only good things to celebrate under our new roof! And thank you again, BBI Immobilien!
